3. Status of the COP

3.1. Under this heading the COP must contain statements to the effect that:

 

3.2The COP was drawn up in accordance with guideline with reference number DMPR 16/3/2/4-B9 issued by the CIOM.

 

3.3This is a mandatory COP in terms of Sections 9(2) and (3) of the MHSA.

 

3.4The COP supersedes all previous relevant COPs.

 

3.5All managerial instructions or recommended procedures (voluntary COPs) and standards on the relevant topics must comply with the COP and must be reviewed to assure compliance.

 

3.6The COP may be used in investigations or inquiries in terms of the MHSA to ascertain compliance and to establish whether the COP is effective and fit for purpose.
